One reason Jesus was so effective in reaching the people of his day, was that he spoke about things that really mattered to them and further, he did so using stories with which they could easily relate. He didn’t require they first learn a new language to be able to grasp his message. As profound as were his teachings regarding the Kingdom of God, they were neatly tucked into stories using common terms that expressed the concerns of everyone who heard him. He communicated complex truths in a way that made people yearn to hear more.
Somehow the church has lost that ability. Though other believers listen attentively, the eyes of the unsaved glaze over while we speak about the most exciting of all truths. They don’t relate and therefore deem us irrelevant.
If you are among those who desire to close the ever growing disconnect that exists between the church and a society that is becoming increasingly more secular by the day, and if you wish to assist mankind in recapturing his destiny and purpose, this book is one you will need need to read again and again.
Drawing from his years of ministry among unchurched young people, Rob explains the revelational and unifying message of the Kingdom, not in trite religious jargon and time worn cliches, but in unique terms a hungry world already understands and relates to. In doing so, he not only makes the message of Jesus appealing once again but teaches us how to do so as well. His sincere passion for God and his desire to see mankind become all the Creator intended will impact you!
